Well, I seem to have spent the last four days working myself to death! I still dont think I am 100% right after my bout of tonsillitis, but we had so much to do round the house that I had to help. We had really strong winds late last year? And it blew all our fence panels, on one side of the yard, out of the posts. They are only waneylap, but they provided us with security and privacy. Our landlord replaced one of the panels with a new one, but three others were damaged as well. Just not bad enough to warrant replacement thought our landlord. Since then two of those old panels have disintegrated, and one old panel was broken by next door dropping his ladders on it. We got a loan from social ( the benefits agency)and we bought new fence panels. They were not expensive, but more then we could afford without the loan. We spent the last two days sanding them down, coating them with wood preservative to prolong their life, then preparing to fit them. I dont have the strength to lift them high enough to get them into the concrete slot posts, and Clive still cant lift anything because of his hernia repair, so we had to wait for son to come over.He came last night and we now have a nice row of new fence panels in place. Just need to fit the spacers and tielinks and the fence is finished!
The rest of the time we have been preparing the back half of the living room for decorating. Which involved removing all shelves, pictures, ornaments etc from the walls, and then getting ready to strip the old paper off. Only problem we found was that someone had used strong glue to stick some parts of the paper down, its dragged some of the plaster off with it!! So we need to skim the walls before we decorate. I need some plaster stuff to do it with though. I might just use parrot food. You know, Polyfilla
So there is why I haven't been around much. Hope everyone who calls in and reads my blog is happy, well, and fit as a flea :)
